Encounter. Security. Diversity. Our concept combines attachment-oriented care, reliable rituals, everyday learning and a respectful view of each child.
Who we are
We are Diana and Olga, two state-recognised early childhood educators with professional passion and many years of experience. As mothers, we also know family life from personal experience.
Our cultural diversity shapes our work. We want to support families as they arrive and create a place where origin, language and life situation are met with openness and respect.
Music, movement, creativity and language
Music is part of our everyday routine. We play piano, sing welcome songs and use weather, seasons and small daily moments as musical impulses.
Diana contributes creative and movement-based activities such as child-friendly yoga and body-awareness exercises. Olga creates a language-rich environment through reading, picture books and spoken everyday routines.
Our pedagogical attitude
We combine attachment-oriented ideas inspired by Emmi Pikler with elements inspired by Waldorf education. Mindful guidance, free movement development, rhythm, repetition and sensory experiences give children security.
Children need authentic relationships, time and a safe framework in which they may develop at their own pace.
Structure gives security
Recurring rituals and a reliable daily rhythm offer orientation. The morning circle is a fixed part of the day: we greet each child, sing familiar songs and talk about simple everyday themes such as weather, weekdays, numbers and feelings.
Daily routine
- 08:00-09:30 Arrival
- 09:30-10:00 Morning circle with fruit and vegetable snack
- from 10:00 Play and movement indoors or outdoors
- around 11:30 Lunch
- around 12:00 Rest time
- around 14:30 Afternoon snack and free play until pick-up
Care times
We care for children Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00. Children with a full-day voucher are usually cared for from 08:00 to 16:00, children with a part-time voucher from 08:00 to 15:00.
The Kita voucher should ideally be requested from the youth welfare office about two months before care begins.
Food and drink
We cook fresh meals every day. Meals are balanced and child-friendly. It is not only about nutrition, but also about experience: smelling, feeling, seeing and tasting. No child has to eat or try anything.
Sleep, rest and becoming dry
After lunch the atmosphere becomes quieter. Some children sleep, some rest, some simply observe. We accompany this transition individually and mindfully.
We understand becoming dry as a developmental process, not as training. We accompany without pressure and in close communication with parents.
Health and settling-in
For the protection of all children, we follow legal requirements regarding illness. Proof of measles vaccination is required for care.
Settling-in is a shared process. A familiar adult stays at the beginning as a secure base. We follow the child and the ongoing exchange with parents.
Location and rooms
Our family day care is located at Bänschstraße 75, 10247 Berlin. The neighbourhood in Friedrichshain is family-friendly, calm in the residential streets and lively in the surrounding area.
Our rooms are designed to support calm, orientation and wellbeing, with safe play areas, movement opportunities and places to withdraw.
Parents as experts for their child
Trusting cooperation with parents is central to our work. We offer brief everyday conversations and individual appointments for longer discussions. Once a year, we hold a development conversation.
